Notes from Paul Marcus:
We had walked down the narrow canyon that leads to Zuma Beach from the Magic Bus, Paul's 24-track mobile recording studio sitting solo on a vacant lot in Malibu ( see photo at http://www.pauldelph.com/gallery/magicbus.html ).
We were talking about how we both wanted to believe there's got to be more than this broken, poor excuse for a world. Sitting on rocks overlooking the horizonless Pacific, we found our way to a mutual temporary conclusion. We want to believe there's a God up there, but one thing's for sure... we want to live each day trying to make some small difference somehow. That led to "got to put my heart and soul in each and every line down here."
Two hours later, we had the groove, the chorus, and were crafting lyrics for the verse. All this time, Paul facing his mortality made talking and writing about these things inevitable, and you can easily see the tie into "A God That Can Dance" (Paul Delph's final album). Thanks to Andy for making this demo sound pretty darn good!

Thanks! Original audio tape has tons of hiss. Audio editing software (Bias Peak) has an amazing filter called Sound Soap that washes away tape hiss like magic. I'll continue playing with the video edit. I have a great photo of Paul for the end sequence and an astrophotographer buddy sent a fantastic photo he took of the Orion Nebula I want to weave in.
It's amazing how current Paul's work still sounds. He made great choices. Timeless craft from a much missed friend.
