This is a tailgate overview of what I've dubbed the Urban Primary Tool or UPT. When it comes to disasters / emergencies in urban territory, we're going to benefit greatly from a prime tool that's capable a breaking, bashing, crushing, extracting and torquing its way through various types of common building materials. These may include glass, Sheetrock, Stucko, plywood, framing, cinder-block and even concrete. It's my believe and understanding that the ability to break through building material, pry-doors, locks and hinges and or gain leverage on heavy objects will be invaluable during disasters, both natural and man-made. Most would agree that a full size Halligan Tool simply isn't a practical option for an individual citizen on the move, due to size and weight. In this video I present some UPT options that far exceed the demolition capabilities of a large survival knife yet are still carry-able or concealed in a EDC pack or "USK" (see nutnfancy's video "Concept USK" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVkntkChnnM) I'll be demonstrating some of the tools in the future but for know I just intent to introduce the thought concept as it has been given little attention by Survivalists, Prepers and Sheepdogs. Please share your sensible and well-reasoned thoughts.

  • @Patriot36 We have a tool in the UK called a fencing tool. Its used for working on farm fencing, chain link and things like barbed wire. Its also used for gutting buildings and light demolition and building work. It has a pliers, wire cutter, crimp, hammer face, beak and can be used as a long hook lever if shoved in the end of a length of scaffolding pipe. Its about the size of the wire cutter in this clip. I wonder, do you have a similar tool in the US?
