Why wasn't Teena Marie and Rick James, T. G. Shepard, Jose Feliciano and Adam Ant included.

The best female singer Motown ever had,, and they wasted her. She could knock the socks of the one Motown pushed, being MMs Ross

I'v just hurt my back dancing, I thought i was 16 again, great song.

I'm really glad you have been reminded as others of these wonderful people that I miss a lot, Motown composer Mickey Stevenson I remember was married to another of my favorites Kim Weston, she was unique too wasn't she? I tried to add my collection of the lesser known Motown singles and songs, and hope people will like these 60's greats as I do. :-) JOHN

oh yea, and you have showed me some music i didnt know exsisted. i felt that because i knew most of these motown stars, that i would know every song, but you have blown me away. this song in particular reminds me of when my friend mickey stevenson took me to the motown picnic in 1966. it was at Belle Isle and it was so beautiful. sometimes i turn on my computer speakers and turn off all my lights and i go to sleep listening to a song you put on this site. once again, bless you.

Thank you so much for your comment, professormotown, that's so nice. Brenda is an all-time favorite of mine also, I have always found Motown stars nostalgic too, as I too was young in the 60's and became a life-long fan, I am looking forward to tomorrow as here in the UK, on the "Paul O'Grady Show" he is talking to Mary Wilson of "The Supremes" and it's going to be an all Motown show, great! They still sound good today don't they? JOHN

I'm glad you like my old records, as I have said before, Motown was during a time when I hadn't a care in the world, and it was always so cheerful and unique, it still is when you hear it today, those were the 60's very nostalgic for me!!

Hi, MotownMagic1959: I was a itty-bitty kid in '65 (I was 5), but thank goodness I had a music memory OF A 35-YEAR OLD!! lol Later growing up in the early-mid 1970's Motown kepy me sane--I listened to the music almost all the time. Before I leave for school, and right after I came home. It motivated me to get an education. You can even say it saved my life so many occassions. Now my nieces and nephews are listening to Motown The Early Years. Thanks ever so much for the memories!

slowmotion,
What kind of music do you produce? i have a fairly good knowledge of music old & new. don't worry about all that license owned shizzle, just rip'em & nick'em. You may already know but check out the amen, brother track. People have ripped the homosexuality out of that.

Those old songs have withstood the test of time haven't they? I wish I could help you slowmotion421 but I simply post these for people and Motown fans to listen to, they are owned by Motown really. Hope you have some success though, it's nice to see your comments.

Such great music...I have the luck of growing up here in Michigan. My father says he seen tons of these greats live back in the day...He has passed his love of these hits to me. I just can't imagine having hitstown just down the road growing up.
And lets not forget the players behind those great singers ....The Funk Brothers!
Great job!! Love the video

MOTOWN!!!....the sound of Young America. Well it sure was for me....I couldn't get enough of them, I was a huge Motown fan and still am today. Yes, thank God for Motown, they gave us so many memorable songs to have. Thanks for posting your songs. It's great to see and hear some of the lesser artists represented and remembered. A big Thank You!

Her voice sounds like velvet feels. Thanks for posting.

Thank God for Motown. It brought us most of our best singers. Withiout Motown there would have been no Brenda Hollloway, Mary Wells, Marvin Gaye, Kim Weston, Temptations, Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Marvelettes and Four Tops. Wouldn't that have been a total loss! Berry Gordy made such an important contribution to music in the USA.

I wish I could help you there Steev but they are really hard to buy nowadays, although luckily they have put out compilations sometimes that pop up a lot, listen out as I have some great tracks to come, it's good to know people still appreciate Motown.

MotownMagic, you're taking me back to when i was young. i remember meeting Brenda Holloway at one of Marvin Gaye's shows in my hometown of Detroit at the 20 Grand. when i heard this, i began to cry, because i actually alot of these motown stars, and some of them have passed on, but this music, partly because of you, remains in my heart. bless you
