it is interesting to me that irony is such a timely thing, and i wonder about how many things from the past i have guffawed and dismissed because i only saw them without the context and subtleties of their own time. it also makes me wonder about the things that i generally percieve as being purposefuly ironic and sarcastic, and whether abhorrent actions in the past have sometimes been justified by having the sentiments behind them purposefuly presented in such a evasive manner for broad appeal.
