You know the work, but i think you need a better way of teaching the material. I find myself drifting off as you speak. I think it has to do more with communications skills or maybe you have to prepare more.
Watch this video of the professor at MIT deliver a lecture about waveguides and see how he communicates the material and keeps the listener interested. Just a thought
