(Sacramento) California Assembly Democrats say the Governors record setting use of his veto pen, and the rubber stamp veto message used on many of them, is not something to be proud of. Assemblymember Ted Lieu (D-Torrance) says Governor Schwarzenegger ignored his duty to carefully review all legislation when he decided to use a canned veto message to dismiss dozens of pieces of legislation. During a news conference in Los Angeles Assemblymember Lieu said, He had time, while bills were sitting on his desk to go to the Republican state convention. He had time, while bills were sitting on his desk, to go and speak in cities across the state. If he had time to do all that, certainly he had the time to do the work that the California Constitution charges him with.
