@homersimps1 by custom or vintage I meant the pickups they call them SWC and SWV I think. mine has the custom pickups, but yer your correct in that they dont have the pickup covers. I find no pickup covers does add a bit more treble and less bass and you mention.
The pickups are very hot and I always found them to be exceptional at everything from jazz to high gain metal. I use a blackheart handsome devil. You've got an exceptional amp btw, wish I could afford a mesa but im only 18 atm and poor

@krispatel1 It's the Custom, but I think part of the reason they're a little bassy is due to the pickup covers, which the Spalted Maple is not, correct? The Spalted looks awesome by the way - I should've gotten it. :(
Anyhoo, the Rockfields are actually sweet when played clean, but leave a little to be desired when using a lot of gain. It could just be my amp, which isn't a gain monster - Mesa 5:25.

@homersimps1 is it the custom or vintage pickups in you guitar. I have the customs in my limited spalted maple patriot and they're some of the best pickups ive ever used

sounds good, yah. It actually sounds very bassy. Needs some brighter pickups. The Rockfields aren't that great - I own a Patriot Custom.
