This is an introduction to basic microphone setup and recording using Audacity, a free audio recording and editing program. This program is used in the music classes of HMS. The video is appropriate for any beginner wishing to learn about audio recording with Audacity, though it has been designed for middle school students. The only pre-requisite skills are basic computer operation and basic understanding of using a microphone. The equipment necessary for this tutorial includes a computer running Audacity recording software (free from audacity.sourceforge.net - note: this tutorial is PC-based) and a USB microphone. A standard microphone with a 3.5mm plug will work. In the tutorial, substitute the mic input for the USB input.
Wait, I want to put my saved edited music into Windows Movie maker, and it wants to save the things as a folder. When I save it, it won't let me imput it. Help?

@AllyAlly1620 - Are you saving your project or exporting your edited music? In order for Windows Movie Maker to accept it, you need to go to FILE and EXPORT and it will compile everything into a finished MP3 file. I have another tutorial posted that shows this process... Check out my LEVEL 4 Audacity tutorial. I hope that helps!
