This is a selfmade laser exposer for making circuit boards. It is made from parts taken from an old scanner and laser printer. The original laser from the printer is not used. Instead the machine uses a blue 1W 445nm Laser. It uses two microcontrollers, one for controlling the printer motor, the other one for controlling everything else.
The PCB layout is transferred to the machine on a line by line basis over a serial port. The microcontroller turns the laser on and off while the polygon scans it from right to left. On the right side is a light sensor which detects the laser beam when it passes to get accurate timing.
The Video shows the machine, and how a pcb is etched after exposing it.
