@Emotional2000 It wasn't a rumor. It was true. It is exactly what he did. ML tried everything else and it didn't work, so feeding the Turnbaugh twins spicy food was the only way he knew to get them to cry and not cooperate like that. You can tell the way she keeps the doll up to her mouth. The whole explanation is even on the uncut version discs. So whatever you find or read about this scene was indeed true.

Caroline should have taken Grace. I hate to say this, but I think she left her there on purpose so that Charles would have such a hard time caring for Grace the most that he would give up and sign the petition.
