"Professionals" and their anti-DIY attitude really take the cake. I am a DIY. I do my own repairs and installs on 99% of everything. The only time I call a "professional" is when I simply don't feel like, or don't have the time, to do a job.
@jasonstray not trying to be a jerk with previous post, but I have saved a lot of money over the years installing my own wood flooring (saved $6000), changing my own oil and brakes in my vehicles, etc. as I am sure you have done. Although not a "professional" in any of those things, I follow directions to the letter and feel that I do as good a job as the professional even if it may take me a little longer. A few have asked me to install their floors after seeing the quality of my install.
@jasonstray As a frequent do it yourselfer, I don't see anything wrong with showing someone how to install their own product. Those that are capable will learn how to do it anyway. I would imagine that most are not a threat to your business and will call you as necessary. I have done a lot of things "right" when installing my own stuff and don't think that I should be forced to use a "professional" just to protect your business interests.
Soooo I install these operators frequently. Do you honestly think it is a good idea to post a video rather than let the professionals do it right? Wow.
