After completing a five-spot branding campaign for Emirates Airlines in 2008, we were called back to promote the brand new Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport. Once more based on beautiful scripts by Jennie Morris, this time around we visit a Shakespeare play, the old Wild West and the space race.
The goal, of course, was to show the insane collection of amenities that the new terminal offers. There are huge lounges, retail outlets, spas, 14 restaurants, two hotels and departure gates built to accept the A380.
Apart from surviving an airport in the middle of construction for a total of ten days, the Western scene provided the biggest production challenge. Shot in the Madam desert close to Oman, we flew in costumes from Hollywood, found an expatriate cowboy from Kentucky with his own Western saddle, and inserted a New Zealand mountain into the back in post. Luckily, we did not have to paint out the camels that ran into the shot because David and Kaya were able to chase them away with their ATVs.
