Recently an interdisciplinary team from the sciences at Missouri State University worked together to receive a grant from the National Science Foundation in the amount of nearly $250,000. The grant will allow them to purchase a state-of-the-art confocal microscopy system.
Students and faculty in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics departments will use the equipment to acquire high quality microscopic images, increasing the quality and competitiveness of the research being completed at Missouri State.
And we are proud to honor members of the research team who applied for this prestigious grant. Kyoungtae Kim, John Steiert, Laszlo Kovacs, Brian Weaver and Lifeng Dong. And on the court to congratulate the honorees is Missouri States Vice President for Research and Economic Development, Dr. Jim Baker.
Ladies and gentlemen please acknowledge the work of these research scientists at Missouri State. They are in the Bancorp South Academic Spotlight.
Congratulations Missouri State! The National Science Foundation is an awesome organization and provides such an important boost to the scientific research community. I would recommend you consider the Nikon 90i with the DS-L2 cooled camera system for your fluorescence confocal research.
Good luck in all your future endeavors.
