  • @martynpank Also thank you! You could have 'Dissed' my comment! I like to chat sensibly!! Good man!

  • @taylor4660 I was a big fan of Run DMC, but I always thought, & still do think that Melvin Glover (Melle Mel) is the best..........By a long way!

  • @martynpank Melles last verse was referencing Run-DMCs come up. At this time he was still "King" and alot of his peers felt Run-DMC was overatted...they came out in'83...

  • Todays rap seems to be about killing, being a thug and a ton of bullshit. It was good as there was actually a positive message in their( melle mel/furious 5/flash) music,of course a bit of boasting, but also well written stuff.

  • @taylor4660 This rap is one of the best ever! But I cannot see the connection to Run DMC!

  • Peace to the Old School Nation and Afrika Bambaataa, Yeah for the real hip hop heads, this is how its done. No fuckin rapper could do this today. I used to rock this on my boombox in the summer of 1984. So for all those haters and biters out there i was there. Where were you? Peace and much love to Grandmaster Melle Mel, Scorpio, Keith Cowboy and the furious five

  • @taylor4660 Yeah! And I even knew that back in the day too. I think the 2nd verse in "King of the Street" was about LL Cool J too. (Ironically I heard that this was one of LL's favorite raps!)

  • @ankokugaiBOSS Melle's rhyme was about Run-DMC.....

  • "Make em hip to the hop and all that stuff..." And hip hop was born..

  • Reading all these comments makes me realise something, you all love this track and ol' skool Hip Hop like i do!!!! It's all about Cowboy(r.i.p) and Melle Mel for me!
