  • Net neutrality is the free market! Net neutrality is what we have now. The FCC is protecting it and if they do that one thing all the other bullshit they've pulled can be forgiven. FYI, the government created the Internet. This means it has no obligation to pander to corporate monopolies who want to cut it up and sell plots like real estate.

  • so they're gonna "FIX" the issues !

ahhhh, like fixing the public through the D.O.Energy in "seeing "WE" the ppl are directed off foreign dependency of oil since 1977' Worked LOvely eh'? (only 35 billion per yr. and + 500k employees) I'm must be deaf/dumb/blind&stupid b/c HELLO our Gortment has a 100% F-A-I-L-U-R-E R-A-T-E ! This is coming from an Ideolog whom praises Chavez PPl W-T-F-U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • noʎ ʞɔnɟ

  • I am so glad that is guy is here to protect and empower me on the net. I was starting to feel bullied online, but once this bill is passed, he's gonna hold my hand and protect me. Whatever we're paying him & his staff is not enough. Double it & furthermore, expand the FCC to make certain that poker games are fair. We can afford it. --sarcasm.

  • Mean Ridiculus

  • This guys sounds like a character from FAMILY GUY or this is a Family Guy episode live????... everything that he said is kind of ridiulus

  • This guy sounds like a Soviet commissar. Could we GET an FCC chair more pro-centralized gov't power in communications? "Universal service" "net neutrality" "free broadband for the poor and rural folks" "free phone service" Jesus. Does this guy even LIKE the free market?

Look, the private sector is working phenomenally on these issues! Fuck off, FCC. Let the free market work and get outta teh way! We don't need universal service or any of that other bs. We'll be fine.

  • What low-income responsible adults can't afford telephone service??? If they dropped out or didn't go to college and want to work at mcdonalds, I say fuck em. Don't give them handouts like free broadband or free phone service! God, this administration is so defeatist when it comes to wealth. Rather than encourage people to do well in school, go to college and get good jobs later on, they enable poor folks by giving them more free shit and handouts, more so than previous administrations.

  • I guess I missed the part in the Constitution where broadband is a right, Genachowski. Moron. Are you gonna next say we have a right to food, housing, jobs, and healthcare??

At the very least, charge these people who are getting free broadband a user fee! Don't just dole it out for free. All the other people with broadband not in those areas have to pay, so why shouldn't they? If they can pay a premium for a public option, they can pay a little for broadband.

  • The move to give people in rural and poorer areas free broadband is laughable. It's just more foolish handouts. I mean, I'm in a suburban area with plenty of broadband companies serving me. But we had dialup until recently! Those same poor people should get the minimum dialup, not have taxpayers subsidize expensive broadband for them.
