CRNAs are very well educated and have a lot of experience. A CRNA is not just a nurse, you have to get a Master's Degree in Anesthesia to do that. It is always better when two people are present, of course. But it doesn't mean that a CRNA can't do their job! By the way, an anesthesiologist is only present during the induction in most cases. I observed a few surgeries shadowing CRNAs, so that's how I know.

  • Just shove that tube down the throat bitch..one sore throat cumming up

  • @delilahrock10777 Was it a strange feeling at first?

  • I've been given anesthesia I don't know how many times ever since I was a small child. I've had my tonsils removed, tubes put in my ears probably at least a hundred times, and had my wisdom teeth out when I was thirteen years old. But I still hate it more than anything and that heartbeat sound at the end of the vid brought back the bad memories and trauma of all that surgery... O_O

  • Anesthesia is reasonably safe if administered by an anesthesiologist (MD) or by a qualified nurse/assistant (CRNA/AA) IF and that's a big IF, they are closely supervised by an anesthesiologist. Some places are trying to allow nurses (CRNA) to practice "solo" without an anesthesiologist supervising and that's dangerous..I recently had a procedure rescheduled because the anesthesia was going to be administered by a CRNA only (means by an unsupervised nurse)....cancelled immediately.dangerous

  • Yeah, that's right. Try to scare the shit out of people so they become scared and might not go for treatments and surgeries they actually need out of fear of suffering arrhythmia of an extreme drop in blood pressure.

  • @MsCarowinds No. The whole point of anesthesia is to put the person out of consciousness, so doctors can perform surgeries and other such things without the patient feeling any pain. In most cases, the patient just... kinda... "sleeps" (out of lack of a better word) during anesthesia.

  • @delilahrock10777 is it bad? like do u feel anything?

  • Well, of course anesthesia can be risky. But everything in this entire world is risky.

Honestly, getting your wisdom teeth out is just as risky as anesthesia.

But, people train for years to do what they do. I plan to be a nurse anesthetist. You learn the skills needed to monitor people while they're "under". They are well educated.
