This oddball game show-esque format called for teams of three players to compete for cash prizes. Frames 1 and 4 were strike frames, worth 30 points (each time got one try). Frames 2, 3, 5 and 6 were spare or split frames -- a conversion on the first try was worth 30 points, or 20 points on the second attempt. Then in the 7th (final) frame, all three team members got to roll for a strike, with each strike worth 40 points. Unfortunately, I only kept the 7th (final) frame of this final match, and the winning team's attempt at the "big money split," the 6-7-8-10. The teams: Mark Roth, Dotty Fothergill and Ed Lubanski vs. Earl Anthony, Donna Adamek and Bob Strampe. Jay Randolph on play-by-play. Steve Neff on color. Golden Triangle Lanes, Irving, TX. Exact date unknown (it was shown on a tape-delay basis), Fall, 1979.
Golden Triangle? I think I went there once growing up in Texas.
