This is a video of the GREAT 20th Anniversary Celebration Dance of the Boston Gender Free Contra Dances, taken Saturday, January 24th, 2009.

Our dances are open to gays, lesbians, bisexuals, trans, queer folk and our friends. Dogtown is the band who is playing, made up of Becky Miller: Fiddle, Tom Randall - Piano & Norb Spencer - Accordion. The dance was taught and called by Tony Parkes.

This clip was taken in the early evening, following an afternoon dance party, and a pot luck dinner. We had over 100 folks come to celebrate with us that evening, including not only many of our regulars from the gender free dance community around New England, but also supportive callers, musicians and quite a few of the great dancers from the Boston area traditional dance community. The energy was amazing!

The Boston Gender Free Contra dancers is a local dance community under the umbrella of the Lavender Country & Folk Dancers (LCFD) who help sponsor, network and support gender free traditional dancing in New England and around the United States.
