The rebels control nothing like 80% of Tripoli - they are still fighting around the compound and abu salim in the extreme west of the city, where they were 5 days ago. The rest of the city is a chaos of militias, most (but not all) of whom are rebel supporters.

Sky News have plumbed new depths by actually DISTORTING their map of Tripoli to make it look like the battles aren't all in one sector, and that green square is in the middle.

I don't know what you mean by "in the greater scheme of things". Age is always relevant, but that doesn't mean it's always significant. You have no way of knowing what most adults can understand and I think it best to not make that kind of assumption. Hope is something you mostly find in yourself, rarely in others.
