The construction of Matsue Castle began in 1607, under the local lord Horio Yoshiharu. In the year 2007, the local government celebrates four hundred year anniversary of the beginning of the construction of Matsue Castle. Those are pictures of Dou Gyoretsu drum festival commemorating the anniversary.

In the very last picture, you can find a Haiku or Japanese poetry.
It says, "にこにこと 笑うあなたが 好きだから"
My translation of this Haiku follows.
"Your twinkling smile / makes me love you / this much."
I like this Haiku very much. Do you?

  • Oh, and whats the song and artist? Its so pretty

  • The song is featured in the Japanese anime movie.

"Tales From Earthsea" or "Gedo Senki" is the title of the movie.

Teshima Aoi is the singer. I love her voice very much.

Taniyama Hiroko wrote the song. She is also a singer.

I recommend you to hear other songs written by Taniyama Hiroko.

I love her voice, too. I think you'll like it.

  • Okiee Dokiee, I'll look her up too. And I thought he voice was familar, Teshima Aoi is awesome! I listened to a few other songs of her.

  • "The Rose" is the famous song of her with English lyrics. It's pretty good.

Matsue is a stunningly beautiful city. I wish I had had more time there. The photo of the sun setting behind the island was my favorite. It was cloudy pretty much the whole time I was there, but a friend and I went to that Buddha statue on the shores of Shinji-ko one night and talked for a long time under the moonlight. Matsue has only good memories for me. I hope I can visit again

  • ey nice things , sky ppl and everything , man keep it going

  • Geez. You are super good at making sentimental videos. :)

  • Yeah, thats one of the first songs I listened to her... its so pretty, shes good singing in english too... she has a strong accent, but I could still enjoy the lyrics. I heard that song before, I heard her sing that song. It was really popular in America.
