2D in-game realtime lighting made by using Game Maker and CBNA Light Engine. This scene took something about half hour. You can see the 24 hour cycle and campfire lighting.

  • @Pyware50 Really? Noob? Maybe you are, if you have to write this things here.. I saw your YT channel and there is nothing to prove you are programmer. Just pack of stupid songs. So until you prove, you really know what are you talking about STFU! And one more this stupid commentary and you'll be blocked ;)

  • Thanks for uploading this, I searched CBNA Light Engine and I found what I needed to badly. Looks amazing!

  • @hundredtai CBNA is really simple but it's pity that it is in French.

  • @Pyware50 C++ is harder but just because it is harder to program with does not mean the games are better

  • @Pyware50

Not sure what you're getting at here. Chess is a game, and it's not made with a programming language at all. Heck, rock paper scissors is a game, and you don't even use anything but your hands to even PLAY it. Why would using a programming language, or Game Maker for that matter, make or break your ability to make a game? You clearly have a misunderstanding of the word game. Or did you mean video game? Perhaps you did not see... this is a video.

  • @Pyware50 Languages are basically tools. You can't call yourself a good or a bad programmer because you use one tool instead of another. What really matters is how well you'll be able to express your ideas with whichever tool you have in your hands.

If anything, GM actually makes harder to obtain such effects because of the lack of shaders and such. It's not fit for any big game project, but it's a great learning and experimenting tool, and calling it a "prog for noobs" hardly makes it justice.

  • @Pyware50 actually anyone, ANYONE who programs a game is a game programer. The people who made pong we're game programmers. It doesn't matter how simple or complex the game is. People make very simple games all the time. Have you seen the mac app store? For you to assume that a game needs to be be extremely complex and made from scratch just shows how little you know of game design. So stop bullying people for trying to be creative.

  • cool

  • @Rion4096 Game Maker script kiddies learn a programming language , game maker is a toy block me all you want i made my point !

  • @Pyware50

Im not calling my self a game developer and you are a fool.

  • @pkm100 Learn a programming language like C++ and a graphics API like SDL and then you can call your self a game developer using game maker just makes you a cool 12 year old.
