Jack Nitzsche:"Starman" (1984)-Main Theme

with all do respect miss Hunz,while some writers take creative liscense with some classic stories for example: Robinson Crusoe;Castaway and Romeo&Juliet of the 60's and the remake with Leo Dicaprio in the 90's.I find nothing wrong with revamping a project to make it more relevent to today's audience,thus giving a new generation a new perspective on a classic story.think of how many people were all of a sudden captivated by the sinking of a ship100yrs ago, just by putting a love story to it...see

just goes to show you the appetite of the movie going public ,the only movies he's remembered for is"Halloween & Escape from New York".both of which have and will be remade into mediocre pictures i'm sure.lets hope if this film is remade the director has the smarts to leave the story as is and not try and change what is already a perfect project ready for a 21st century upgrade...what say you all?

Not likely. Most films are stolen, changed and re-named. Take "Short Circuit" + "Wall-E"

a modern day classic (25 yrs later) that doesn't get its just due.you can compare it on so many genres sci -fi, romance,action.and the score is on a par with any classic movie past or present.Carpenter at the peak of his career.its a shame he couldn't maintain this level in his later pictures

Totally.He had to rotten it up with Vampires and Ghosts of Mars. Yuck.

the ending to this movie kicks my ass everytime. i watched it twice the other day. its my favorite Sci-Fi movie.

I watched it with my daughter a few months ago and it makes me cry and cry!

This is a massively underated theme form a massively underated movie.
