Siddhis of Gujarat (originally from Sudan). These Sudanese originally came to India as labourers or salt workers, and have now become a part of their home state of Gujarat, living next to Gir National Park where the Asiatic Lion now lives (and nowhere else). The Siddhi people retain their Sudanese musical traditions, and as they rarely inter-marry, they also look very much like their Sudanese peers. Their music, however, has developed distinct Indian and Gujarati influences.

  • what do you mean sudanese peers, Sudan (North) is made up of more than 150 tribes so which tribe they belong to? The music has nothing to do with any of the Sudanese music, more Arabian Gulf, I guess these people are Zanzibari from their features and the music played.... better check before you post false info

  • @krokombol The proof is from the Siddhis themselves who said and know that they came from Sudan and haven't forgotten their African heritage. In South Iran and Iraq, there are black people there who originally came from, not only Sudan but Ethiopia as well.

  • can any one explan or has prove that siddhis are from sudan ??
