it sometimes mixes the background with foreground and blur both , like here in this video , it focuses on the cat's face , but the cat's body is blurred , it should blur the carpet not the cat , which means that the focus part is very small ,I am wondering is it adjustable ??

Yes it is.
But if you are looking into getting a Nikon DSLR for video I would get Nikons new one, the Nikon D3100. It has a 14 Megapixel DX sensor, and can shoot 1080p, at 24fps. The D5000 only dos 720p, at 24fps.
