Clair De Lune played on piano by Dan

Achille-Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) was an awesome French composer, one of the most prominent figures working within the field of Impressionist music.

"There are some undesired pauses, a wrong note and a dead note in this performance, sorry for that Claude, my bad..." Dan(ofsydney)

Clair De Lune is the 3rd movement of Suite Bergamasque by the great C.A. Debussy composed in 1890.

[Quotes from Debussy: "The century of aeroplanes deserves its own music. As there are no precedents, I must create anew." and "In opera, there is always too much singing." Claude Debussy]

Alfredo Casella, the Italian composer, said, "He did not have the virtuosity, but his touch was extremely sensitive. He used the pedal as nobody else ever did. The result was pure poetry."

  • Gday. Love your cufflinks. Want to come and see a translation of the poem that inspired Debussy to compose this extraordinary piece of music? Come and visit 'Clair de Lune' on my channel.

  • Thankyou Amie [booksRgr8] : )

  • Oh well the guy is correct,

he just try to put his passion on !

Plus two things, he may be using the pedals to much, and gets alot of reverb,

which is fun when you're alone to play, it makes it romantic ...

The goodthing about DEBUSSY is that it is amazing at a normal speed and slow too !

This music is just amazing in itself !

Yes a little less reverb woul help !

    Supports !

  • Thankyou neferblue

(Je suis d'accord avec vos perspicacités)

  • When you hear yourself play this I bet you hear something beautiful. Since music is an auditory art form may I suggest you listen to virtuoso's perform the music you want to play. You must train your ears before you train your fingers. Listen to legato. I only mean this as constructive criticism, I think you really appreciate beautiful music listen before you play. Peace

  • Thanks trapperbt for your advice, I appreciate it. There is too much pedal in this performance, i recognised that, I use the pedal as a way of compensating for the immediate (and unrealistic) dampening/(note cut off) of a digital (hardware) piano. Unfortuantely using the line out and the compression of the yt format means the pedal down/(string ringing) is too prominent, but i take responsibilty for the outcome and will work on improving : )

  • People are only being bitchy because they can't play it themselves. *Jealousy is a vicious trait*

  • bien

  • Mehh :P kinda gross dude

  • @check0boardz Agreed!

Its sounds like he uses no technique whatsoever. This is meant to be a delicate song.

  • Nice start, but the most important part is missing. So sad.

Bon début, mais la partie la plus importante manque. Dommage : /

  • E o resto da música?

  • I don't mean to seem rude, but to me, this was too ... heavy. You leaned too much on the keys, and there was no rhythm or flow from one note to the next. You may want to work on that, I know it's probably hard to hear when you're playing to yourself, but maybe get someone else to listen to you and give you their feedback so you can improve.

  • that was complete and utter shit

    thanks for ruining the song

  • im obsessed with this piece of music, my friends think its very wired as i am a mosher and im 14, oh well if music speaks to me i will listen to it :D
