My tutorial on how to use The Pitivi video editor which comes as default with Ubuntu.
It is pretty basic but very easy and if you use the keyframes properly you can do fades , crossfades and a dissolve kind of transiton...lacks video effects but good enough for editing your family videos..

  • thanks for this tutorial :) i imported an image sequence (PNG) one image at a time, and anything that's put in the timeline doesn't show in the playback window. what am i doing wrong?

  • @twocorners Does the image sequence contain very high res images?

    also check out my video on how to install the latest version of PiTiVi which works better with image sequences!

  • @Anandsingh00 Yes obviously. I say watch my video on how to get the latest version of pitivi. It will allow you to add many transitions and effects.

  • hi do u know how to save on pitivi I saved my file and it ended up as some wriiten document pls. reply!!!!

  • @canucksrule50 you click the render icon to save the video. clicking save will only save the project file which can be imported only into pitivi.

  • I finished editing my video. When I click render, It shows that its rendering but does not do anything. I've waited for an hour but it still shows that its rendering. How long does it take to render a 3 minute video. Or did I do something wrong??

  • @sidhartRON they are 640 x 480...is that big?? lol i have no idea

  • it will not let me split the video and the audio help!
