  • Tom sounds more like an anrcho-syndicalist then a socialist. Best point- change comes from the people, not the state. the state just jumps on board with the change brought about by the blood sweat & tears of the people when it becomes politically convenient. Govt. is and always has been a tool of the 1%. It's not your friend. It's inherently corrupt b/c it's legitmacy comes from the fact that it can murder people with no consequences.

  • @NWOALERT wow i never thought of it that way. it's true. they can kill you or detain you indefinitely (e.g. bradley manning) if you get in the way. the hope is that those soldiers and policeman will realize that doing the bidding of a handful of rich evil fucks maybe isn't the way to go.

  • @wood6735 Yes, I know. But he said that event inspired this record... So, if he that was such an inspiring experience for him. Then he could have "returned the favour". I mean, writing a song about it really is kind of lame in comparison to what the workers did, don't you think?

  • @buugiman78 It wasn't his decision though; it was the decision of the workers to give the money to Haiti.

  • Don't get me wrong. I like Tom Morello. I think he's a great musician and obviously he's more engaged in social injustice than most of his peers. Still, I find the story about the poor workers giving their much needed money to Haiti as an inspiration for his album quite hypocritical. If that's actually a world he's striving for then he could at least have agreed to give the earnings from this record to the poor workers. Don't you think?
