There is a crisis in the world today. It is a crisis much greater than those we read about in todays headlines, greater than the problems that consume governments. It is the loss of a generation. Children in developing countries are being lost to poverty, hunger and the overwhelming traumas of daily life. For many of these precious children, life is a day-to-day struggle to numb the pain of hunger or to find a place to lay their head. One in three of these children has no adequate shelter. One in seven has no health care. More than two million children die each year simply because they were not immunized. For those who survive, any hopes or dreams are forgotten in the struggle to survive.
