The guy on the right is so patronizing to Robert Smail, he asks him questions and then answers them for him. He obviously has a tiny penis.

It was a curious fact that the minorities had their printing presses much before the official printing press was established in ottoman empire. Perhaps there was no need of such a tool where a large number calligraphers was to exist upon this under the protection of their guild. Maybe the modernization efforts that made way for an efficient bureaucracy that demanded a printing press to prepare standardized forms to fill.

Anything that is printed seems to be taken as an unquestioned fact by the common reader. The book has a holy side to it after all.

Not only does ideographic script make printing immensely more difficult, but also, at least in the Chinese case, has confined literacy to an elite for many centuries, making it very difficult to divulge printing.

All the great effects of printing press (nationalism, Protestantism, linear thought, individualism, etc.) were famously pointed out by Marshall Macluhan in a difficult but worthwhile book, "The Guttemberg Galaxy".
