Rett Syndrome "When Vanessa Smiles"

Copyright of this song is owned by Sony Music Entertainment. Vanessa is my oldest grandchild, born with Rett Syndrome. It is a neurological disorder that robs these little girls of their motor skills. I chose Celine Dion's song "Fly" because she had dedicated the song to her niece, Karine, who lost her fight against Cystic Fibrosis in 1993, the year Vanessa was born. Vanessa is my "Silent Angel",the love of my life, who is not doing well, and losing her fight. and is dear to my heart, The video has been posted in order to bring awareness to those who don't know what Rett Syndrome is, and also to let other families that live with it know that they are not alone.

Hello My name is Teresa and I have an older sister named Shalimar who has Rett syndrome.When she was 2 yrs old everything changed. Many doctors told us that she wouldnt make it past 14 now shes 25! My mother and I thank the Lord everyday for her! When i watched your video it touched me. Shes very beautiful and she looks very similar to my sister! Ill put a video up of her soon!

@sweetchica2know A huge hug to Shalimar from Vanessa please :-) The way I see it is, nobody knows how long anyone is going to live. Vanessa is now 18 yrs. old and I thank God for her being in my life every day. Can't wait to see the video of your sister xxx

Vanessa is now 17 yrs. old, I know that many have asked me to keep them updated on her, so I have videotaped her and added it to YouTube. She still has her beautiful smile :-)

My daughter was diagnosed in 2007 and it is a daily struggle but she is a wonderful little girl. This video was beautiful and I thank you for sharing

I have another a video I posted yesterday of my precious angel. It is called "When Vanessa Smiles" updated, June 2010. She is now 17 yrs. old.
