Me playing Ultimate DOOM on my Amiga A1200

Here's me playing Ultimate DOOM on my new Amiga A1200. The Amiga is powered by a Cobra 68030 accelerator running at 28Mhz with 32MB RAM, displayed on my LCD monitor through the Indivision AGA.

I'm playing with my Competition Pro CD32 control pad, but my left shoulder button is stuffed so I can't strafe left.

It's not running at its optimum speed though, since I'm also online on MSN and browsing the web on separate screens at the same time. You've got to love the Amiga's unique way of multitasking.

Towards the end of the video you will hear the young butcher bird outside, who visits me every day for a snack of grated cheese.

There are a few MSN clients for Amiga, SabreMSN and AmiMSN, also there's Jabberwocky. We also have Twitter clients and web browsers.

Damn, I wish it wasn't so difficult (and expensive) to get hold of an amiga here where I live. I must say that I am surprised that you are using it for other work too and even got internet access on it.

The girls here just want Macbooks and other garbage - you certainly are very different!.. I guess it is because you are from Australia, if not then you are really one of a kind ;)

May the amiga live forever (and hope I get hold of one soon!!)

Unfortunately Australian girls are generally as stupid, superficial and boring as girls in every other country. I'm all alone down here. I think I turned out the way I am because I'm deaf, was born and grew up in the desert, and rather than gossiping and being influenced by society and popular culture I read books and learned about technology, science and philosophy.

how many years old have the amiga 1200 ?? i ' plaied at doom 2 in the 1996 on a AMD 486 . i remenber the commodore 64 ^_^ good times .

Of course it would, what's your point? I don't use my Amiga to play DOOM because it's fast, I play it on my Amiga because I love using my Amiga, no matter how old or slow she is. I don't use Windows anyway.

Wow, look how new your Amiga 1200 looks. No yellowing of the case or keys. Looks like you got lucky and found a newer one still in the box. I have a brand new Amiga 1200 "Desktop Dynamite" Boxset in the closet that I bought off eBay a few years ago for $100. I also have a new in the Box Amiga CD32 "Dangerous Streets" as well. I'm a long time Amiga fan! Owned the 1000, 2000, 500, 600, 1200 and 4000. Sold them all. Loved loved .. LOVED the Amiga. Makes me happy to see you enjoying your 1200.
