The Ozaki Brothers - ROMP 2009

The Ozaki Brothers, Yasushi and Hisashi, from Japan performing at ROMP 2009 in Owensboro, KY, 6/26/09. These brothers are credited as being two of the people who introduced bluegrass music to Japanese audiences in the 1950s. Bluegrass music continues to do well in Japan even today.

Thank you for commenting. Please tell Mr. Ozaki for me that I enjoyed meeting him and his brother in Owensboro and that I look forward to seeing them again next year.

I very much admire what the Ozakis did for bluegrass music in Japan and consider them to be real pioneers of the music.

I spoke with both brothers at a little jam session under the trees and showed them one of my pictures (still on my camera). I think they enjoyed themselves at ROMP more than anyone else I saw.

He is a very famous musician in the United States.

It knew for the first time today.
