Ronen Shamir, Full Professor of Department of Sociology and Anthropology- Faculty of Law at Tel-Aviv University (Israel), gave a lecture entitled 'The Power of Electric Grids: methodological notes'. On 31 August, his lecture had place at the Universidad de los Andes and was organized by Uniandes Faculty of Law.

Shamir received his LL.B [Law] and his MA Sociology from Tel-Aviv University (Israel), and his Ph.D Sociology from Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. (USA). He previously was Department Chair of the Department of Sociology at Tel-Aviv University. Also, he was a Faculty LSR Summer Institute at Wits University (Johannesburg, South Africa), Fall Semester Visiting Professor at Sabanci University (Istanbul, Turkey), Scientific Director at the Institute of Social Research at the Tel-Aviv University.
