The Feather River Express, a private car excursion from Oakland to Portola, California to commemorate 100 years of the Western Pacific Railroad, passes Del Paso, California on Union Pacific's Sacramento Subdivision about 1110 on the morning of 20 August 2010. 2 Amtrak P42 diesels lead a variety of private rail cars, with ex-CZ dome observation Silver Solarium bringing up the rear.

  • Hi Trainboy94, are you the fellow who was watching WP 913 while the I St. bridge was open on Sunday? I was the guy there with his daughter. This video sequence at Del Paso was on Friday and we didn't have a meet on Friday.

  • Dogh, my camera recorded the time as 1111. The train was quite a bit later out of Sacramento than the schedule's 1015.

  • @calif2000 Yes that was me

  • Interesting video. I chased this train from Martinez to Portola the day it headed east and I chased it from Portola to Davis the day it headed west. Vids are on my youtube account. I was trying to beat the train to this Del Paso area but it was to dang fast. I beat it from Oroville to Davis but then in Davis the high way turned into a parking lot so I just gave up on the chase in Davis when the train blasted past me as I was standing still in insane traffic.

  • The BNSF it met is just off camera huh, I caught it just south of you

  • Great job with that video Mike ! Had to look great going up The Canyon.

Importantly, what was the precise pass-by time again ?

  • Nice catch there, pretty cool !!

  • Nice shot! It was a great train even without 1983. I saw it in Davis, Dixon, Sac Depot, and Haggin. I'll post mine probably within the next few days. Thanks for posting this video!
