First, I apologize for my long absence. Second, I apologize for the poorish sound quality in this video as well as the speed of it.

Everything is basically to the point, and I have some really helpful tips at the end if you're having trouble.

Other info:
There are basically many cables to connect your display. The one shown in the video is known as a : VGA to VGA cable.
Others are called HDMI to VGA, DVI to VGA, S-VIDEO to VGA, and the list goes on. If you're having trouble identifying which one you need, feel free to leave a comment!

If you use a HDMI cable, there is no need for an extra cable to emit sound.
Like me, many people make the mistake of "OH NO! My sound doesn't work!" It does.
Look at the back of your TV and locate your display jack, and look around it. Anywhere that is like 6 inches away from it, is no the audio jack you're looking for. It is always RIGHT NEXT to the display jack.

The end of the video has good examples of which audio cable to use depending on your TV.

  • i have a vga cable, and the male to male connector for audio, but still no sound is coming through the TV, do you know why this is?

  • @NelDavies I had that same problem and found out that it was because I used a different audio jack into the TV. BE SURE that the VGA AND the Audio jack are RIGHT next to each other

  • Thank you very much, short but concise. It helped me understand I needed a male to male connector for the audio input/output given the specifications of my TV set.
