This guy is why I avoid San Francisco.

How's that Operation Chaos thingy working out for you, Rushbo?
How sad that the party of Abe Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt has degenerated into the party of Dick Cheney and Limpdick Limbaugh.

Operation Chaos
Limbaugh is a hypocrite in criticizing ACORN for undermining the democratic process.

Limbaugh's strategy probably "worked", but it may actually have helped Obama. Through the long primary process, he had the opportunity to get better known to people, register more voters in all states, and prove that he can wrestle down a tough opponent. A different candidate might have been taken down by "Operation Chaos" because he (or she) would have been lured into a mudslinging competition. Obama knew better than that.
You make one good point although you probably do not realize it. There should not be open primaries. Both parties should be able to pick their own candidate just like virtually all of the third parties do.

@MSPEL Open primaries are pretty weird.

You offer a very intelligent analysis. But don't think that there weren't just as many Democrats who voted for McCain on Super Tuesday just because they thought he'd be easier to beat.

I'll buy it if there's evidence, but the dems who I read, especially Jerome Armstrong, were much more concerned about the difficulty of beating McCain than any of the others.
Nobody was talking about faking a vote for McCain, but people were in some cases fake voting for Romney. That is, of course, just as unethical.

NPR is my favorite news source, followed by The New Yorker, which is narrower in scope.
Some major newspaper other than USA Today, which is crap, is important for headlines. I use NY times.
A dozen blogs, of which openleft its one. Also wikipedia provides too much of my information not to mention it.
