The Cinema for Peace has nominated Malalai Joya for "The International Human Rights Film Award 2008".
The final result will become public at a ceremony taking place during the Gala on February 11, 2008 at the historic Konzerthaus in Berlin, Germany.
The letter sent by committee of Cinema for Peace says: "You have been nominated for an award in 2008, because we believe that your work in Enemies of Happiness makes a very valuable contribution to the cause of peace and understanding."
Cinema for Peace is an international charity-gala which takes place annually to raise funds for selected aid projects, intending to engage the international film community and stress on the role that film can have in the development of the values like peace and tolerance in the world.
Some other nominees for the Cinema for Peace award in different categories for 2008 are Angelina Jolie, Michael Moore, Christiane Amanpour, Leonardo DiCaprio etc.
