View from my hotel room (Hotel Estrelle Del Mar) when first arrived in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, March 2008. It's think it's about the nicest budget motel on the water (I was happy with it) and pretty much saw the major animal groups I set out to see within 10 minutes looking off the balcony: pelicans (a low flying one tried to leave a little present on me), sea lions, a blue footed booby, marine iguanas and some red crabs. I just had to make a short walk to the Charles Darwin Station to see some giant tortoises.
