Nascar 98 - Sega Saturn

This game has it's up's and downs - main upside is it plays like an absolute dream, certainly makes you feel you are in full control of the cars, which are also well animated and detailed - if only Daytona CCE played as well as this :(

Music is the usual irritating crap you get in these Nascar games. (I got a few on my Gamecube too, they're all pretty much the same) Sound effects are ok. Graphically, it's pretty good, but the tracks, like real NASCAR tracks, are all flat and there aren't really many features. The game suffers from pop-up, but it is quite some distance away and isn't as bad as some driving games on the SS. This game has quite a low viewing angle behind the car you are driving, which helps hide the scenery building, but there are only so many bends on NASCAR tracks! The clip I made here shows me playing on three different circuits - Whilst replaying the clip, I had trouble identifying differences between them. They are all pretty bland and boring and look the same.

Boring tracks aside, if you can get this one cheap enough, I would recommend you to give it a try, if only to see how well it actually plays.

I can barely see some of the graphics, but I got this game when I was 4. Here's some things I noticed:

- The cars would bob up and down while driving

- Michael Waltrip looks Cuban in his picture

- Molly Hatchet RULLZ!

LOL mate - it's on the Saturn, I think we got lucky with what we got, and being from the UK, I have no idea who Michael Waltrip is :) I'll assume he's a bit like Alan Prost

@demondog48 NASCAR 11 is by far the best NASCAR game I've play and I've played NASCAR games back what the FIRST NASCAR racing came out for windows 95 (beat that lol) but NASCAR 98 had pretty good racing physics for it's time

Nascar game? Seriously? Its bad enough watching retards drive around in ovals, but to fake it on a game? The world must be full of red neck retards. Who pays for trash like this? Try real racing. Nascar blows.

Technically it was developed in 97, but yes this had good physics for then :).

What about 1996?

Destruction derby 2 was pretty good for 96.
