"Francisco did have an accent, but it was a purposeful one."
I found the part of the book about it: "He spoke five languages, and he spoke English without a trace of accent, a precise, cultured English deliberately mixed with slang." That's on p. 91 of the 1985 paperback edition.
This is the 1st time I heard the speech read out loud. So it's approximately 4 minutes and 22 seconds? :-)
I did notice, though, that this is an abridged version of the speech. In the book, after he says, "ought to learn the difference on his own hide," Francisco then says "--as, I think, he will."
It's an excerpt.

Christifer Hurts (guy who narrates cowboyx's videos) does the best job of it I have heard.
Francisco did have an accent, but it was a purposeful one. He purposefully made himself sound extra clear like an aristocrat.

Is that actor Edward Herrmann reading the speech in a fake European accent? o.O
That's weird; I recall reading in the book that Francisco d'Anconia spoke English without a thick European accent.
