As far as the Method Man thing goes it is MOST likely that him choosing the name METHOD had nothing to do with H&O at all but because the song does exist maybe one of the other guys in the group started saying singing it with the MAN part and they found a hook. They didn't rip them off. It's prolly just an interpolation that made sense.

I was always under the impression that his name came from the famous kung-fu movie of the same name "The Method Man" good movie too.
