@xxpandamidknightxx Capcom lost, because of Data East mentioning their 1984 Karate Champ arcade (different and superior to the later released FDS / NES port) being the true originator of the fighting genre of today (or the first successful fighting game). Capcom combined that and the other arcade-hit Konami's 1985 Yie Ar Kung-Fu arcade to create the first Street Fighter in 1987, by having its 1P Mode similar to Yie Ar Kung-Fu, and its 2P Mode similar to Karate Champ.
@MHMemeDoubleYourFun Geez, I already know about the Captain America games by Data East. So, Capcom stole Data East ideas? Data East stole Street Fighter's ideas with Fighter's History. Do you recall that 1993 lawsuit that Capcom USA slapped on Data East USA? Oh wait, you don't know. You are like 20 or 21 years of age.
@xxpandamidknightxx Each Captain America game by Data East is one genre. The first one was a beat 'em up arcade, the second one was an action platformer, and the third and last one was a fighting game. It is nothing like Marvel Super Heroes other than starring Captain America and Iron Man. If you look on the bright side, Avengers in Galactic Storm introduced assistant characters to the genre.
Capcom imitated others, too. Even automobile manufacturers steal each others' ideas today.
@xxpandamidknightxx This was actually part of Data East's promotion of video games specifically based on The Avengers. Remember their four-player beat 'em up arcade and their NES and GB action games all based on The Avengers?
@figment1988 Which shouldn't be overlooked, because Avengers in Galactic Storm was the first fighting game to feature assistant characters commonly referred to as "helpers" or by the KOF trademark name, "Strikers".

@MHMemeDoubleYourFun But it was a side scroller/beat em up. This one was trying to be Marvel Super Heroes style.

Data East was trying to ride Capcom's cocktails and vagina hairs.
