GeoSnippits Geocaching Tutorial Videos hosted by our very own lovable HeadHardHat gives you an interesting introduction on how to utilize the electronic bread crumbs or tracking functionality to find your way back when geocaching, hiking, etc. You will see the Garmin 60CSx and the Delorme PN-40 GPS units in the woods of North Carolina. As an added bonus is the video capture of two large barn owls calling to each other a real wild treat to see. Geocachers with little or no experience will enjoy these episodes as much as the more experienced geocachers will. GeoSnippits is an ever growing series of geocaching video tutorials geared for geocachers of all experiences to enjoy. You can also visit our GeoSnippits home web page at www.geosnippits.com.

  • good tip Head Hard Hat sometimes I get lost and don't mark my recovery points. I will do that in the future to prevent getting lost.

  • @geomodelrailroader Happened to a friend of mine the other day. Went a couple of miles bushwaching in a dense woods and on the way back found a huge swamp area he did not notice coming in. Knew where the car was but had a heck of a time getting back to the right path to get there.

  • you should make a video comparing gps...and saying which ones are good for geocaching and

    what ones aren't

  • @dumbo354 I may do just that. Currently a fellow geocacher of mine is doing an extensive comparison as we speak and I will post it on my blog when he does.

  • Great videos for us Newbies, Can you please tell me which topo map I need to put into my Garmain 60csx and where to buy it, I want it for hiking like you explained on your Electronic bread Crumb video,, Thanks, pete

  • @sasktank LOL - a holler is a large ravine or valley that will make walking in a wooded area difficult. Many times they have a stream or two running through them as well.
