I think you should throw the smoke a bit longer in to B to just get the cover from the boxes right inn front because CT see you quicker when you coming out of the smoke.

only problem with these tactics is that no one ever dies, which rarely happens in a real game unless you play against noobs

This is at best a generic strat for d2.

Thats why they throw the smokes early. The delay running to B tunnel is enough time for the enemy to consider double nading the tunnel or not. And if you'll notice they have a guy camping tunnel to avoid the flank from behind. If you're really bad without good weapons this is a good way to start.
