Norm Duke speaks at 2009 Dick Weber Open

When it comes down to victory and defeat, every man is alone in his task to face down ten white pins. Even with tens of peoples watching in the crowd and hundreds of thousands more on television sets across the nation, he is alone when it comes down to making the shot. I saw this intense focus in every players' eyes that hinted at a certain lonely detachment from the whole surrounding and total focus on the task at hand.

My sister and I got to congratulate Norm right after the show while he was smoking a cigarette in the secluded area outside. Upon seeing my sister and me, he warmly walked towards us down the ramp to meet us. I just wanted to shake his hand and he shook both of our hands and thanked us for our sign.

What a great guy. Congratulations Norm! May many more titles fall upon you.

When i was at a pro am in baltimore my girlfriend was trying to just get me a regular t-shirt that he had made and he didnt have any so she asked for the competition shirt and he sure enough gave it to her and it is the one that he has on in this vid and well it looks like he had another one made norm is a really nice guy to even give his shirt away after his forst time wearing it
