This is one of the more intense crashes of overheight vehicles at the
Gregson St Trestle I managed to capture on video. The truck came
hurtling at the bridge at maybe 40 to 45 MpH and was about a foot too
tall. The deceleration to zero MpH is intense. It took two hours to
peel the truck out from under the trestle.

  • judging by the number of bridge strikes i would say this is a decently used roadway..you would think that after a while traffic engineers would instal a mcdonalds type clearence bar about a quarter mile before the bridge so there wouldnt be damage to vehicles...why such a low bridge downtown anyway?

  • One time, I was pulling off the freeway at the exit I take to go home and this exit goes under an overpass. Well, there was a flat bed with some sort of fully built wood shed or playhouse type thing and apparently, the shed thing was too tall and the point of the roof hit the overpass and completely ripped the building off the flatbed and it shattered all over the lane. I thought the bulk of it was going to roll down and hit me, but it stopped.

  • @navybeanification box truck 12' 6"

  • at least there was a cab beside them :D

  • Living next to this bridge is probably the highlight of these people's day.

  • @wardragons00 No it was a taxi

  • This truck is clearly 13 6 and the bridge it's self was about 12...lol can you say morron...

  • Ryder and Penske... they'll rent to anyone... IMO These 5 tons should require a CDL regardless of the brake set up...

  • truck drivers have got to know the basics. Going under bridges is always risky, you gotta know what you are driving. Think about the height. underpasses are no place for trucks, know your height, and then take the alternate route if you see a bridge that is too low.
