@alishaj90 You have several options
1. Befriend someone who speaks the language and urge them to teach you.
2. Volunteer for an NGO in Haiti (best way to learn).
3. Some schools offer cheap night classes (especially in south FL)
4. Buy a haitian creole/english dictionary and books... and listen to haitian radio stations from Haiti (some have online streaming. A quick google search will land quite a few)
If you already know french, you'll pick it up in no time.

@foredimples529 - Thanks for the compliment. I'll tell her you said that. They live in Duval village, only about 12 miles (and 2-12 hours travel time) from Port-au-Prince. Everyone in the village lost their homes in the earthquake. This old house here did better than most of the stone houses. After the quake, they made little shelters from the corrugated tin from their roofs. None of the relief organizations are helping Duval. We'd like to help, but how to get materials to the mountains?

@loudenanuma Mwen pa pale Kreyol byen. Marim Ayitien. Mwen vle aprend pi Kreyol ak li e nan Ayita. I don't speak much Haitian Creole yet, but I'm determined to learn. My husband is from Duval, the tiny mountain village where this aunty is speaking. Most of them, including her, lost their stone houses in the earthquake. Luckily, their houses were 1-story with corrugated tin roofs, so not many died. Now they made shelters from the tin roofs, but they all need new houses and aren't getting help.
