The Joys of Allan Sherman, a brief crooning light of Jewish American comedy. Allen, Rest in Peace. The World is a little brighter from the light-heartedness you so generously gave us.
I remember you and your "Catskillian" quintessential lyrics with a smile and a tear. Thanks Allan! What an amazing bar mitzvah!
You left our World a little better place than which you found it.

Once a long time ago my wife (then girlfriend) and I did this for our High School talent show. It was a big hit! I think we did better than these guys. We were in costumes of people ready for bed at opposite sides of the stage with phones for props.

my generation has it the best and can't appreciate it. born in '89, I got all the best cartoons from the 90's, and all the cool things from before I was born are ALMOST gone, but I have the internet and all the old fans keep digging stuff like this up. fifty years from now, will it even matter that you can 'go back in time' with the internet? heck no. they'll have something better and take that for granted too.

CORRECTION-----"Phenomic" is wrong. Should be "PHONEMIC"

Hailey does a great job with the non-rhotic NewYawkese,as well as with the phenomic aspect.

Have this one on my ipod, along with Hello Muddah Hello Faddah, Harvey and Sheila, My Son the Vampire, and Christmas '65.
Awesome, you and Hailey did an awesome job.

It's been over fifty year now and hearing this again reminds me hearing my father roar with laughter at these parodies by Allan Sherman. Brings back childhood memories of the happy kind.

Thank you. That means a lot to me. I admire Sherman so much. It feels great to introduce new people to his songs, and to give older people (like me) the opportunity to reminisce. Thanks, Dave Brinnel
