  • from what I hear I think that maybe you went to the wrong college, there are plenty colleges in the city that would give you freedom, I think maybe that would have been helpful when you were applying to college to know that

  • @mct4444 My college was in the absolute middle of a city. It's just in the nature of most US universities to be centered around the campus, since loads of students live there. It wasn't like my school made us stay in. As opposed to UK unis, where most students don't live on campus, so things rarely happen around it. I did go to the wrong college, but not because I didn't do my research or because of it's relation to the city, haha.

  • I am about to leave for study abroad in England. Any packing advice?

  • @namelessmoose If you're on the fence about needing something, you probably don't need it.

  • I'm planning (mostly hoping) to study abroad in London the year after next, but my parents are hesitant about the cost of living there. What are your tips for having an enjoyable experience in London while still somewhat remaining on a student's budget?

  • @graceecurrie I mean, it's just like any other place when it comes to saving money. I don't really have specific tips, give yourself weekly budgets for things, you don't need to go out every night and if you are going to a club, drink beforehand because they ROB you with drink prices xD

  • @allystandsforawesome for a uk uni kayley's situation is common

1st year -- people live in halls mostly which you get your own room, and student bars. usually own bathroom, sometimes cantine campus unis are rare in the uk

2nd yr + -- most people move out to flats or houses with other students. these residences are sometimes organised through the uni but it is your house/flat, the uni has nothing to do with it other than helping you get it

message me if youre still curious bout student life etc?

  • @amypaskaruk1 YouTube *is* my job, haha.

  • @cooki3mil3s As an English person, I know that Unis over here can charge £6000-£9000 per year now, and accommodation really depends on where you go.

  • What's the rent like in the UK? Is it very expensive? I'm thinking about living there/going to uni or something after i finish high school...

  • Hey, I really appreciate this.. I'm thinking of going to London as well in the fall of next year because I'm zoo ready to get out of this little town with these narrow minded people; plus I've always wanted to live in the uk

  • @MeOnStuff you don't get a student loan for a Masters... And now is hardly the best time for finding a well paid job!

  • @RikemagCola learning another language and/OR culture I'd say, and the US & UK are VERY different. Just because we speak (versions of) English, doesn't mean we have the same culture.

Not to mention you just might want to experience a different Uni system, like the modules that are offered by somewhere overseas, have friends there, have previously visisted a place & loved it, etc.

As for the money thing, when I went abroad (albeit UK > France) I actually saved money, lots of it!

  • sorry, maybe this sounds like I'm a sublime idiot but.. for me the point of studying in another country was always about learning another language and something about the cultur there. now I ask myself why someone hows fluent in english goes to america to study there. I really don't want to sound rude, but it's a lot of money and I can't make out why do this. again sorry if this sounds like I'm stupid or retarded or anything I'm just curious..!

  • I am thinking alot of taking study abroad in London next year, and I'm wondering; do you pay much for not living at campus but in the city instead?

  • Is it really hard and/or really expensive to attend uni in London? (I'm in New York currently btw)

I mean, Kayley has an advantage b/c her job is Youtube.. I don't have that same advantage.
