Dog and horse play in East Texas. Lucy and Whiskey Brown getting frisky in the back pasture. Lucy is a 2 year old mixed Portuguese Water Dog. Very special. The horse is one of a kind. He is a 4 year old Quarter Horse stallion. This is what happens when two animals are raised together with unconditional love and kindness. Whiskey Brown and Lucy are quite a pair to watch. I wish the barbed wire fencing was different. A fence made out of steel pipe and steel cable would be better. I'm working on it. Please send donations if you are concerned and would like to help me speed up the process. Whiskey Brown is not a fence jumper, not yet. He prefers to stay home because he knows how good it is around here. He won't leave, even when there's a huge hole in the fence. I hope to ride him one day. I first started sitting on him bareback while he eats his feed. It's a slow process. I can put the saddle on now and get on, but I won't use a bit or halter. Being a stallion, I cannot be too careful. I just sit on him while he's in the stall or stable area. I'm no horse trainer, but I do know animals. It helps to find their weak spots. Surprisingly, I found one. He has a ticklish spot on his back. When he tries to get too bossy or giddy, I just reach back and tickle him. That changes him really fast. Has anyone ever seen a horse laugh? (Just kidding). No, he's not a Mr. Ed, not yet. There's also no need for the "3 foot rule" with Whiskey Brown. When I greet him first time every day, he's all over me, like a giant dog. Many times he pushes me into a corner, nudging, nipping, etc. while playing really hard. I'm no match physically. Sometimes I think he's actually teasing me. That's part of my morning work out I guess. When it's time to teach, he catches on, stops playing, and let's me show him what I want him to learn. We both have so much fun every day. Not trying to take anything away from the dog Lucy, he's like one of the dogs, but better. :)
This is absolutely amazing. I can see the happiness of these animals. How they are enjoying the freedom. It makes me smiling and happy too :)

You are a wonderful animal lover. You really get them, and its awesome. That's why they love eachother so much. They were raised with love, and we all know they are reflections of thier owners. Hims a smart horse! Just move that fence outa the way! Lucy reminds me of my pittie, Crumpet. Everyone is a potential playmate. Cats don't fear her. The strays I've adopted took to her right away. My shepherd is a boy, but a mother hen. He mothers kittens. Mommy's a sap, so I guess the doggers are too
